Turkey Day

Tomorrow is the big day! We gather, we feast, we take pictures like this:

2010

2011
It started in 2010 because my Dad refused to make an appearance. It was a loving "here's to you, Pops" and now he has it framed at home. How sweet. Last year we just had to repeat it but that time I think it was to Nana for staying home. Hey look, if you don't want a nasty-gram from us, don't be a party pooper.

My aunt and uncle always host Thanksgiving and then everyone brings an appetizer or something to contribute. Well, this year we're going to mix it up. Instead of the traditional meal with a bird, dressing and the whole nine yards, we're going to get a glazed turkey (pre-sliced and put into roll form) from Honeybaked and just do all appetizers. we like to snack all day while we visit anyway and this is a lot less work so I'll all for trying it out. Add a little Apples to Apples and some music and call it a celebration.

Before we can eat, we've decided to run the Turkey Trot at 9:30am. It's just at 5k (3.1 miles for those who don't know) so it's should be fun. My aunt called me from the local farmer's market and said she was signing my 2 cousins up (16 and 20 years old) so Brandon and I decided to join them. I'm excited about it. Brandon, not as much. Yes, it's going to be cold. And early. But why wouldn't you want to burn a few calories before you stuff your face the rest of the day? I'm looking forward to it.

I plan to do another photo-an-hour post on Friday to recap the day's festivities so keep an eye out for that. Have a good Thanksgiving everyone!!
