11 Randoms

I needed a nudge in the blogging direction after slacking for a while so it was a nice surprise when Ellie tagged me in her post yesterday, forcing me to contribute to her craziness. This is why I love her in real life and on her blog. You never know what's coming next from this woman.

The Rules:
  • Post these rules
  • You must post 11 random things about yourself
  • Answer the questions set for you in their post
  • Create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer
  • Go to their blog and tell them you’ve tagged them
11 random factoids about me:
  • I dyed my hair purple in high school. It looked jet black indoors, but in the sun you could tell it was purple. I was the only one who liked it, but since I'm so pale, I looked gothic. My hair has been every shade of brown and red too, but I haven't dyed it since college.
  • I ran cross country and track from 7th grade to my freshman year of college. Even made it to nationals in high school, but got burnt out and decided to quit. I regret it to this day, but I've run two 1/2 marathons in the past few years without any training at all so I still have it in me somewhere.
  • I hate flossing. Hate it.
  • Belly buttons make me want to vomit. Don't show me yours, don't touch mine. *Shudder*
  • I don't drink. Believe it. I hate the taste of wine, beer, liquor... everything. I drank in college on occasion, mostly straight shots of Everclear. True story. I can't sip on a drink, I have to get it down fast or it won't happen. I go straight to the headache phase then feel the need to chug water to get rid of it. I've only been hungover once. I have never thrown up from drinking, and yes I was in college for a full 4 years.
  • I pierced my tongue out of boredom while waiting for my friend to get a tattoo. I kept it for a few years, then took it out but my tongue is scarred for life.
  • I'm OCD when it comes to organization. A place for everything and everything in it's place are words I live by.
  • I attended a college I never visited. Ellie (who sent me these 11 questions) went there and liked it so I figured it was good enough for me. The first time I saw the place was during orientation. I couldn't have picked a better fit for me. Made amazing friends and met my husband so I guess I have El to thank for it all.
  • My major was "undecided" until my junior year of college and I still don't know what I really want to do with my life. I graduated with a BA in Organizational Communication with a minor is Speech Communication but have no idea what to do with it. I hate when people say comm is a cop-out major, I loved the classes. We don't all want to be physicists. What's so wrong with a little marketing and public relations?
  • I like details. A lot. I want to know as much info as possible about anything and everything. There's no such thing as over explaining in my eyes.
  • I detest Harry Potter, Twilight and Star Wars. Stop trying to make me watch the movies. Seriously, it's annoying.
11 questions from Ellie:
  • What’s your biggest pet peeve? When people cancel plans on me at the last minute. Or ever.
  • Who’s your favorite author? Sloane Crosley, even though she's only written 2 books and they're both just chapters of short essays. She's hilarious!
  • Where’s the next vacation/trip you’re taking? Going on a cruise to the Bahamas at the end of February. Insert "sinking ship" joke here, I'm still not worried.
  • Who will win the super bowl – Giants or Patriots? I don't care much for either team, but I want the Giants to win because I'm not a Chad Ochocinco fan since he left the Bengals after being an egotistical tool. Oh a simple "Giants" would have answered the question? My bad.
  • What’s your dessert of choice? Brownie, but hold the ice cream & hot fudge. I could care less about that part.
  • If you could have a superhero power, what would it be? To know when people are lying to me. Is that a superhero power? If not, it should be.
  • What’s the best thing about blogging? I write what I would want to read about if I were blog hopping. Sarcasm is the spice of life, so the best thing is finding other people who appreciate the humor in everyday situations.
  • Would you rather drive in rain or snow? Rain. No question.
  • What kind of car do you drive? My Ford Escape or my husband's Chevy Silverado
  • How do you spend your free time? Hanging out with my husband and cats, maybe reading a book, occasionally watching tv.
  • If you could meet a celebrity, who & why? Julia Roberts because I bet she would be fun to be around.
My Questions for Those Who are Tagged:

(I'm still working on this part. I'm not sure I even know 11 people who blog! I'm a newbie, remember? Dilemmas, dilemmas.)

It's Ok Thursday

Its Ok Thursdays

It's ok...

To have already spent a bit of cash on clothes for the year.

To be thinking about a vacation in August.

To already make a mental packing list for our cruise... which is still months away. What, I didn't write it down and everyone knows if you don't write it down then it's totally normal. Ok, write it in pencil, if you must.

To have cat hair all over my dark blue shirt & not plan to do a damn thing about it.

To have said cat sleeping on my desk, in the way of typing.

To stalk items on ebay, then feel bad when you win with 15 seconds left and no chance for the other person to place a bid in time. What if the other person really wanted it? That makes me feel bad... but not bad enough to stop, sucka.

To have played Angry Birds for the first time a couple days ago. It's not that great.

To subscribe to a hilarious parenting blog even though I don't have kids. Seriously, her entries will make your abs hurt from laughing so hard.

To have skipped day 51 of P90X. I swear I'll get back to it tonight.

To HATE yoga with a passion. P90X makes you do it for 90 minutes! It's cruel & stupid. That's all I have to say about that, Tony Horton!

To eat ramen noodles for dinner on nights when you're too lazy to cook real food and too cheap to go out. Or, I don't know, maybe you actually like them like I do. Put a little piece of chicken on top and call it fancy.

What are you saying "it's ok" to today?
